Pantomima - Theatre Based Care for kids is an immersion daycare that excels in teaching children from 11 months to 6 years old languages through theatre and art. We believe that each child is capable to achieve artistic potential through active experiences that develop their enthusiasm and creativity. Pantomima offers a quality care program for toddlers and preschoolers that facilitate a second language acquisition as they develop intellectual and artistic awareness.
A theatrical interaction through Spanish also induces a coherent dialogue, employs real life experiences, embraces spontaneity, develops ideas, and intellectual skills. Children will develop sensitivity towards oneself and towards others as they play and pretend.
Rhythm and sequence activate listening skills children easily use to learn a new language. Therefore Pantomima implements daily musical cues for easier understanding and visual/hearing connections.
Art surrounds our environment. Every time children have the opportunity to create with different elements of art their imagination grows and evolve in to new ideas and experiences.
Children use intentional tools, toys and well designed areas to encourage their fine and gross motor skills as they grow and learn new theatrical experiences.
We would love to have you! Please request a demo class online so we can welcome you into our space. You will have the time to ask questions, interact with teachers and get to see our classrooms.
Pantomima's methodology allows parents from all ethnicities and backgrounds to provide their children with a multicultural experience where they can learn, acknowledging diveristy and creating a sense of community within one classroom. Also, by providing Spanish as a second language we expose our children’s brains to a different set of neurological connections developed by all the interactions they have with the language and the levels of engagement with games, role playing and daily routines.
We have combined Reggio Emilia and Montessori's educational methodologies to create an inclusive environment that promotes Spanish learning through theatrical experiences, while enhancing important skills in children:
Pantomima is home for many beautiful families in the area of Brooklyn. We exceed in providing a very personalized service to each family and their children. When your children leave Pantomima they are not only ready to start their school experience but they also have all the social skills necessary to succeed among peers and other adults.
Thank you to all of you! Your feedback and good reference is the fuel to our program. Thank you!
I feel so lucky that we heard about Pantomima and were able to enroll our daughter here. We started when she had just turned two, and up till then she was only cared for by immediate family. She had serious separation anxiety and I was worried about sending her to even a part time program. After two weeks of tears, our daughter was skipping into the class room. And every time we pick her up, she is so proud to show us the many different creative art projects they do at school, and she is constantly singing new songs she learns (in Spanish!). You can really see how intentional and caring each of the teachers are at Pantomima, and Diane, who runs the program, is so fantastic with communication. I feel like I am always up to date on all the themes and lessons they are going through at class, they send tons of photos and if I ever have a question, she answers my emails or texts right away. I'm so happy our daughter gets to keep attending until she starts Pre-K and I look forward to sending our son eventually too.

MotherOur daughter adores Pantomima and so do we! Tonight while washing her hands she said, "manos!" Going to Pantomima has turned our 2-year-old into an outgoing, singing, dancing -- apparently bilingual -- child! She is so happy at "school" and just loves her amigos! Could not recommend Pantomimas more highly!

MotherPantomima changed my daughter's life! She became more open to friendship, to other adults, and to singing and dancing with gusto! She comes home each afternoon with stories to tell and new knowledge about topics ranging from reptiles to the wonders of springtime to dances from around the world. The teachers at Pantomima are truly the best out there. They not only teach the children and take care of their needs, they are warm and affectionate. It's the perfect place for a kid who is a little shy or is having trouble separating from mommy, like mine was, and I'm sure it's also amazing for a gregarious kid who loves to have fun! I couldn't recommend Pantomima more highly.
